all kids are heroes - Solo Exhibition of seny
OCT 15 - OCT 26, 2022, NextStreet gallery
NextStreet Gallery is delighted to host the solo exhibition of young artist Seny "All Kids Are Heroes;" from October 15 to 26 (23 Place des Vosges in Paris).
"The real journey, the real discovery is not to seek new landscapes but to take a fresh look at what surrounds us." This is the mantra of Seny, an 18-year-old painter. A few months after his first successful solo exhibition, Seny returns with fifteen new portraits - refreshing his volumes, materials, and sets of oxidations. Seny continues to explore his favorite theme: portraits of children from all over the world.
The portraits’ subjects are sometimes not much younger than the creator himself. Nonetheless, they are forged by Seny into a common humanity. Perfected at the Boulle school, his technical mastery originated in his childhood spent drawing and experimenting with collage, sculpture and painting. This curiosity and his sensitivity lead the contemporary artist to take a unique and personal look at the world of innocence. A vision inspired by the powerful expressions of his models, but also by his own experience, relays his interpretation of the world.
What is at stake in the eyes of this young Afghan or this African-American? Joy, anger, or strength? Seny gives us a sincere but his own photograph of the world. These works are not only aesthetic, but they touch us and question us.
The ever-perfected mastery of colors owes itself to the mixture of sprays and acrylic as well as to original innovative materials. But if beauty is ephemeral, the strength of portraits and gaze remains and accompanies us for a time, sending us back to our own quest for meaning. Seny provokes a sincere questioning through works that are sometimes clear, often mysterious, and always poignant. Seny will also present a new sculpture during the exhibition.
This exhibition marks the beginning of a remarkably productive autumn for the artist with his participation in the Affordable Art Fair London in October and then in Scope Art Fair Miami in November.
