Herr Nilsson
ABOUT
Herr Nilsson is a Swedish street artist based in Stockholm. He uses famous cartoons with a twisted sense of humor to illegally adorn the building walls around the city.
The artist tells little about himself. He won’t even reveal his age. We at least know Nilsson is an adult with children.
He told Street Art Utopia that he realized he was good at expressing himself in drawings at an early age. Around the age of twenty-one, Nilsson decided to become a professional artist. His talents include drawing, painting, and other media, including sculpture.
Nilsson got tired of painting for gallery exhibitions. He wanted to create scenes in the real world that would reach all kinds of people.
So he created images of Disney princesses brandishing guns and knives that went viral on social media. It gives adults a bit of a chuckle, causing us to think twice about the intended message. Nilsson relishes the instant exposure his work gets on the streets and online.
Herr Nilsson is also represented by Guy Hepner Gallery in New York and Master & Contemporary in London. He has been invited to a number of exhibitions in Miami, Tel Aviv, Berlin, New york….and has many collectors among them famous financiers and royalty.
